INTRODUCTION
Social Protection Conference
SPRC’s Social Protection Conference is a forum dedicated to addressing critical gaps within Pakistan’s social protection landscape. This annual conference serves as a beacon, shedding light on deficiencies present in contemporary social protection regimes. Acknowledging the escalating challenges posed by rising unemployment and deepening poverty, the conference aims at instigating meaningful dialogues for adopting a consensual Social Policy. The primary objective is to cultivate nationally relevant and locally appropriate social protection systems, with a specific focus on alternative development models being explored in various global contexts.
Our collaborative initiatives involving sociologists, policymakers, NGOs, government bodies, and academia, seek to deliberate on pressing social protection concerns, raise awareness, and formulate viable solutions. Rooted in our commitment to addressing a diverse range of issues – encompassing climate change, mental health, and the care of individuals with disabilities and the elderly – the SPRC Social Protection Conference transcends mere event status; it stands as a ands as a platform for transformative change.
